Gucci is the name of a big brand of fashion and leather goods made in Italy. The founder of this giant of the fashion is Guccio Gucci. He lived in one of the greatest cities of Europe, where he assimilated a lot of ideas about esthetics. Then he came back to Italy and opened the first Gucci shop in Florence. Gucci is now one of the Top 100 brands from all over the world, known for its quality and sophistication and it has a chain of almost 300 stores which operates all over the world through franchises. From the company beginings to our century, it became one the most prestigious fashion producers of clothes and a lot of other products. Gucci expanded its activities to other industries and it has contracts with some big car manufacturers, producing in partnership sport cars. All this things made from Gucci a very important company, one with revenues that were estimated to $4.2 billions. From 1994, Tom Ford was named Creative Director and he started producing clothes and accessories, sustained by very bold advertising campaigns, which brought a lot of success, to the House . Gucci is considered more than a shop, it’s a trendsetter which is associated with luxury, their clothes being worn by a lot of celebrities. The company also has a partnership with UNICEF, donating a part of their revenues to the Children’s Fund. Gucci is part of the PPR Group, a group that includes other big names of the fashion industry: Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent and others.
